Friday marked the start of the Easter holidays for me. Although it can’t really be called a holiday as I will be doing university work constantly. A trip home is needed to be looked after for a few days just so I don’t lose the plot completely.
To help us relax Shauna and I watched Ghost World and Welcome to the Dollhouse. I loved both of them in equal measure. I wasn’t sure what Welcome to the Dollhouse would hold as I saw it in the library and got it out in the hope it would be good. By reading reviews of it being slightly strange and a black comedy I thought it would be to my liking. And it didn’t fail to please, the portrait of Dawn Wiener, a geeky young girl who is bullied and looked down upon by classmates and family is so true and at times hard to watch. I just loved how each character was so individual, Dawn was so likeable (well I liked her anyway) and who could forget her outfits. They will forever be ingrained into my mind.
Oh and a young, long haired Eric Mabius (Daniel Meade) entertained me very much so.
I do love it when I watch films that are very good, feeling like you’ve wasted time on them is the worst.
